Today I had the opportunity to discuss Ultra Mobile PC’s with Ian Stuart of Islay High School. Below is a wee video captured off the cuff on my mobile phone – so my apologies for the quality!

Next week sees these devices being given out to every pupil in Islay High School. I talk with Ian about how the devices will be used and any complications/hurdles that he envisages in the management of their use within the school network. About 15 minutes all in, but an interesting insight into the digital revolution about to happen in the school.

You can keep up to date on developments in Islay High School by following Ian’s blog – islayian.blogspot.com

Kevin – great to hear from you! I’ve no doubt the machines will make learning more fun. I’m also pretty sure that the machines will provide opportunity for information to be recorded and presented in new ways too, so I look forward to seeing (and hearing!) all about how you all use them.

For you and any of your schoolmates – feel free to stop by here on this blog at any point and let me and my readers know what you are up to with the machines!

As for thanking me, well, it wasn’t really me that made any of this possible… I just take any opportunity to talk about what you as a school are up to! The real people to thank are Mr. Stuart and Dr. Cunningham.
